03/23/09 Over the last several months, Winnie has made herself right a home with her foster dad. She loves playing with toys and getting all of the attention. Winnie is approximately 2 years old and around 35 lbs. We think she is a bearded collie/ chow mix but don't know for sure. Winnie was rescued from the county shelter after a long 10-day stay. It takes Winnie some extra time and patience to adjust to a new situation but in return she provides an endless amount of love. Winnie certainly likes to be the center of attention. Winnie is crate-trained and house-trained, as long as you keep her on a schedule.
The ideal home for Winnie would be as the only dog. Winnie loves to exercise with her foster dad so an active person or family or even a fenced yard would be great for her. We also think older children (8 and up) would enjoy Winnie the most and be able to provide her with the attention and exercise she craves. We are unsure if Winnie likes cats, so to be on the safe side, a home with no cats is best. Winnie does require regular grooming for her coat to stay beautiful.
