Winston

At approximately 3 months of age, Winston is a big puppy. His exact breed background is unknown (current guesses include a mix of Akita, Pit Bull, Mastiff, St. Bernard, Shepherd mix), but what is clear is that he is going to be a BIG boy, easily topping 100 pounds when fully grown. Fortunately, if his current temperament is any indication, he is going to be a mellow big boy. Winston likes people - especially people bearing treats! He is very food motivated and should be easily trainable. He is not currently leash trained and is still a bit young to completely understand basic obedience training, but he has rapidly learned to play a few rounds of fetch. He also likes to work out some puppy energy by wrestling with the other shelter dogs and is an all-around sweetie. Even with his great personality, however, a new owner MUST commit to proper obedience training for this dog given his future size. A new owner must also understand that, even though Winston/Rusty is an adorable puppy now, puppies go through some very trying periods in their 1st year. Winston's/Rusty's new owner needs to give him the patience and guidance he needs to get to adulthood and he will be a super awesome dog! The fee to adopt Winston is $80, plus the cost to neuter.
