This is Wolfie's story. If you can help us fostering this sweet boy, please, let us know:
"There is nothing wrong with me, except maybe a litle arthritis, but that does not keep from overseeing the squirrels in my backyard. I am between 8 and 10 years old, have all my shots and have a lot of love to give.
My Mom does not want to give me up but she has to – you see she is going into a nursing home on Friday, March 11, 2005. She was even considering putting me to sleep, so I would not have to go to a shelter and live in a crate. But we met this nice lady who said I was such a good boy and she did not have the heart to see me go to heaven just yet. I agree! I love people! I love small dogs and big ones too (but I prefer small ones so they can sleep on me)! I absolutely adore children. My mom used to take me out every day (when she could) to the school across the street so the children could play with me before they went home. My mom has lots and lots of Polaroid’s of the kids and me. She told me that she is taking them with her to the nursing home so she can remember me everyday.
My mom can’t walk very fast as she has very severe arthritis, so I give her the 10 minute warning when that I have to go out! (I never really had an accident in the house, except when I was a puppy)
Once I am done, I “ring the door bell” to come in so she doesn’t have to stand and wait around for me. I learned how to ring the bell all by myself because I am so smart. (I also know the basic commands: sit, stay, come and move (so you can get by me)
My mom sleeps in a lounge chair every night and I sleep in my bed by the door so she doesn’t trip over me. She also doesn’t give me water after 8pm so I don’t wake her up at night if I have to go out.
I will eat anything you give me, I am definitely not picky. I am partial to table food but if you don’t have any or don’t care to do that – I understand. I think it was my mom’s way of showing her love since she can’t play with me anymore. She just sits and pets me and I am happy enough with that.
I definitely could use some exercise, since her treats have added weight to my otherwise once studly bod.
So that’s my story. I am going to live with that nice lady I told you about, before until she can find a good home for me. She would keep me but she already has 4 dogs and just can’t take another one or her husband will divorce her.
So if you have, an open heart, I can be your soul mate and friend, and I will love you, your family, your children and your pets for the rest of my life…."
