Zach- Adopted!!

I live in Stafford, Va. I have taken in an 11 week old Irish Setter puppy. 3/24/04 - I would like to find him a good home. He is VERY active and I believe has seperation anxiety to a degree. We've made great progress in his behavior in the short time I have worked with him. He seems very intelligent but is very full of himself . He would need someone who would be able to give him lots of time and attention at least in the beginning. Zach is about 11 weeks. He is high energy, smart and sweet. He was given up due to an infection with giardia and coccidia that took a while to treat. I have confirmed that his last treatment cleared the infections. Also, I think his mom had forgotten how crazy puppies can be She had to put to sleep an older Irish Setter in the fall. As I said before I think he has a degree of seperation anxiety but that as well as some of his other bad puppy behaviors are getting better. He seems to love everyone but my dogs don't think much of him. I can keep him for a few weeks if needed. He also has an umbilical hernia that will need to be fixed when he's neutered. He is current on his distemper and bordatella vacc. I started him on Heartgard also. Zach does get car sick. The biggest negative is how loud and desperate he sounds when he's left alone. Being with other dogs doesn't seem to help. He will now sleep in a kennel at night in my bedroom with only minimal crying. He is very close to being house-trained but still has some work. He usually will let you know he has to go by crying or looking anxious. An application, home visit, vet reference and a drive to VA a must to meet our dogs!
