Zeus is an absolutely phenomenal dog. He was a neglect and abuse case that animal control rescued. He was found chained to a tree with no shelter, very malnourished and just left unattended. In spite of this Zeus is very well behaved, house trained, good with kids, gentle yet playful. Zeus also tested positive for heartworms. Due to his size he was doomed to be put to sleep if the shelter could not place him with a rescue group that could pay for his expensive heartworm treatment. He will need immediate medical attention in order to treat his heartworms. This is a very expensive treatment especially on a dog Zeus's size. He weighed in at 120 pounds (he needs to gain about 70 more pounds). His guardian angels at Canine Shelter Rescue agreed to take Zeus into their homes and heart knowing that the treatment was both expensive and risky. Once Zeus has recovered from his heartworm treatment he will be available for adoption. He gets along great with other dogs (big and small). He is one of the sweetest dogs I have had the pleasure of rescuing.
